Julia has over 15 years of experience working in the fields of politics, public policy and social development. She served as Chief of Staff to the President of the Philippines and as a senior staffer at the Philippine Senate. Julia has also worked on several successful campaigns for national office. Prior to her stint in government, Julia worked as an educator, lecturing in political science and helping to develop a citizenship curriculum for young children. She has also worked in the non-profit sector as a researcher and communications specialist. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, which she attended as a Fulbright scholar. Julia is passionate about growing the space for people to be meaningfully engaged in public issues. Aside from mentoring young staffers at the Office of the President and other executive offices, Julia has also conducted leadership training for legislative staffers. She was honored as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2014 and recognised as one of Manila's 40 under 40 Leaders in International Development by devex.com in 2013.
