Since 2002, Fellow, Jesus College, University of Cambridge. Research interests in glaciology and glacial geology, with over 30 years of Arctic and Antarctic field experience. Author of over 250 scientific papers and eight books. Recipient of awards: Polar Medal, awarded by HM The Queen (1995); Founder's Gold Medal, Royal Geographical Society (2008); Louis Agassiz Medal, European Geosciences Union (2011).
