News Presenter, Channel NewsAsia

Julie Yoo is a news presenter and producer at Singapore-based regional broadcaster Mediacorp. She currently co-hosts Asia Business First, the flagship business & international morning news programme on Channel NewsAsia, Mediacorp’s 24-hour news channel broadcast throughout the region.
Julie has also covered major events around the region, including the 2017 presidential elections in South Korea, and also reported on significant regional issues such as the historical 2018 Trump-Kim Summit held in Singapore and the impact these have had on Asia.
She has previously hosted various different bulletins at Channel NewsAsia, including Asia Connect, a fast-paced half-hour news bulletin covering the latest news from the Asian region with "live" updates from correspondents in key capital cities.
Julie joined Channel NewsAsia in 2014 from leading Seoul-based broadcaster Arirang where she had an illustrious seven-year career, most notably as a news presenter for Prime Time News from 2012 to 2014, and as the presidential correspondent during the Lee Myung-bak administration from 2010 to 2011. She has interviewed numerous heads of state, senior officials and other top leaders from a broad range of sectors.
Since 1998, Julie has become a specialist in inter-Korean relations, focusing on North Korea’s nuclear programmes, the conflict between North and South Korea, diplomatic efforts between Pyongyang and the global community, and the potential impact the North Korean crisis could have on Asia.
Julie has a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts from Royal Holloway University of London
