Kamel A. Husseini

Founding Curator and Alumni, Ramallah Hub, Bank of Palestine

Mr. Husseini is currently Chief Strategic Engagements & Relations Officer at the Bank of Palestine (BoP) www.bankofpalestine.com; the largest National Bank operating in Palestine, with 74 local branches in the West Bank and Gaza; and international representative offices in Dubai, UAE with intent to expand further in the region: Levant, GCC, North Africa.
Mr. Husseini was the Managing Director for the Portland Trust in Ramallah, Palestine, a UK based Action Tank working on Economic Development. At the Portland Trust he helped implement a main initiative for creating growth in jobs and GDP assisted by Mckinsey Worldwide, in addition to a Spatial Economic Vision for Gaza 2050 as part of a Global Palestine Vision with AECOM (July 2013-January 2016).
Mr. Husseini is also the founder of Ellam Tam. The company was established on January 1st, 2000, as the first Communications and Public Relations Company in Palestine. Mr. Husseini was Head of International Relations and Private Sector Development at Orient House (1991-1998), the headquarters of the Palestinian team to Middle East Peace Process in Jerusalem. His duties also focused on attracting funds and investments towards East Jerusalem Projects in addition to managing international relations for the Palestinian Team to the Middle East Peace Process.
Mr. Husseini was with the former Arthur Andersen MENA as an Economic Financial consultant for 3 years (1997-2000), working on a dedicated basis as Business Advisor for the Bethlehem 2000 Project. In April 2006 Mr. Husseini was the first CEO for the first Palestine Investment Conference to be held in Bethlehem. His previous career positions (2006-2010) also included; VP for Corporate, Investors and International Affairs for the Paltel Group.
Mr. Husseini received a BA/BS Degree in Finance and International Relations in 1988, and MBA Degree in International Business in 1990 from the American University in Washington D.C., U.S.A. He has attended the Global Leadership Executive Education Program at the Harvard Kennedy School in Boston Spring of 2011 and the Lee Quan Yu school of public Policy in Singapore in 2012. He is a YGL alumni 2007 and was the founder curator of the Ramallah Hub for the Global Shapers Community in Palestine, a community of the World Economic Forum.
