Professor Lian Pin Koh brings 20 years of international research experience in the field of sustainability and environmental science, having worked in institutions across Europe, Australia, the United States and Singapore. Lian Pin currently is the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple Chair Professor of Conservation at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He is also Vice Dean of Research at the Faculty of Science, Director of the Centre for Nature-based Climate Solutions, and Director of the Tropical Marine Science Institute at NUS. Lian Pin had been a Swiss National Science Foundation Professor at ETH Zurich in Switzerland, the Chair of Applied Ecology and Conservation at the University of Adelaide in Australia, and Principal (Vice President) of Science Partnerships and Innovation at Conservation International in the USA. Lian Pin has authored over 140 high-impact scientific publications in prestigious journals including Nature, Science and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA. He is one of the most highly cited conservation scientists in the world with over 22,000 citations of his research. Lian Pin is Editor-in-Chief of PLoS Sustainability & Transformation, Editor-in-Chief of Climate Change Ecology, a TEDGlobal and TEDx speaker, co-Founder of ConservationDrones.org and a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader. Lian Pin was also a nominated Member of Parliament for the 14th Parliament of Singapore.
