Kristina Thorne

Deputy Director, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

At the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Kristi acts as Deputy Director for the office of the Chief Strategy Officer and President, Global Policy & Advocacy. Kristi manages the strategic leadership plan of the division's President as well as oversees operations. She manages all GPA staff and leadership meetings and communications, executes various special projects on the President's behalf, oversees GPA's interactions with the foundation's CEO and co-chairs (Bill and Melinda Gates), and manages contracts for cross-cutting political consultants and risk mitigation. A Washington state native, Kristina earned the Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Puget Sound and the MBA at Seattle University.
