Margherita Barbieri is Standards Manager at Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), where she leads the update of climate and energy standards, including topics such as GHG emissions, carbon credits, GHG removals, transition and adaptation strategies and just transition.
She holds an International Relations MA degree from the University of Turin, a teaching assistantship at the University of British Columbia (Canada) and has eight years of working experience in sustainability and marketing.
She led the circular economy initiative Scale 360° in Turin.
She is also part of Italian Climate Network, where she writes bulletins and article on climate (UNFCCC) and biodiversity (CBD) COPs policy takeaways for non-technical audience.
She was part of a "Sustainability and Circular Economy Task Force" at Lavazza Group to promote sustainability across different teams and sectors, dealing with CSR, circular economy, carbon neutrality, end of life management, responsibly sourced materials, and ESG.
She attended Oxford University's Saïd Business School "Leading Sustainable Corporations Progamme".
Her main interests include climate change, environment, biodiversity, the public and private cooperation, economic inequality, global affairs, international organizations, sustainability, the future of business and the role of corporations within the contemporary society
