Mario Abdo Benítez

Mario Abdo Benítez, President of the Republic of Paraguay

His first steps in politics were in 2004 as a member of the Republican National Reconstruction movement. In 2006, founded the Peace and Progress movement and in 2008 won the Vice Presidency of the Colorado Party. In 2013, he was elected president of the Senate of Paraguay and headed his own list for a seat in the Senate Chamber, which allowed him to occupy a legislative seat for the first time. Currently leader of Colorado Añétete, the internal movement of the Colorado Party, as a defense of the institutions of the Republic of Paraguay.
In April of 2018, he was elected as elected President of the Republic of Paraguay for the period 2018-2023.
Has a Marketing Degree from the Teikyo Post University (1995), and a training from the Armed Forces of Paraguay, obtaining the title of Sub-Lieutenant of Reserve Aviation and was also appointed a Military Paratrooper by the Air Force Command (1989).

From 1997 to 2012, was Chairman of the Board, Aldia, a Paraguayan company with more than 20 years of experience in the local market.
