Editor-in-Chief, Italian daily news La Stampa. Started at La Stampa in 1997 and since then was its correspondent from Brussels, New York and Jerusalem-Ramallah. Journalist since 1989, covered the conflicts in the Balkans, Middle East and Horn of Africa. Leaders interviewed include US presidents George W Bush and Barack Obama, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Madeleine Albright and Henry Kissinger, Colonel Qaddafi, Prime Minister Netanyahu, Chairman Arafat, PKK Commander Ocalan and the Iraqi Kurdish President Barazani. Has published in Italy 19 books on foreign policy, the last one is “The return of the tribes” by Rizzoli. Studied at Manchester College and at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem; degrees in Foreign Policy and History, University of Rome.
