Mohamed Faizal Mohamed Abdul Kadir

Second Chief Prosecutor, Attorney-General's Chambers

Mohamed Faizal Mohamed Abdul Kadir is a Judicial Commissioner of the Supreme Court of Singapore. Prior to his appointment to the Supreme Court, he served in the Singapore Legal Service in various capacities for 18 years, with his last position being that of Second Chief Prosecutor at the Attorney-General’s Chambers, during which time he oversaw criminal prosecutions in Singapore. He has written extensively in the fields of criminal law and Muslim law, and served as General Editor of “Criminal Procedure Code of Singapore: Annotations and Commentary”. He is a keen advocate of education-related initiatives who has received the President’s Volunteerism & Philanthropy Award for his work in developing educational scholarships for lower-income students. He has undertaken significant work in the area of international conflict resolution and in promoting peace initiatives, and has been conferred numerous awards, including the Association of Association for Conflict Resolution's International Outstanding Leadership Award and the International Mediator of the Year Award (conferred jointly by the UK Mediation Council and the UK College of Mediators) for his work in this area. He was also recognised by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader in 2016. A graduate from the National University of Singapore and Harvard Law School, Faizal was appointed Senior Counsel in 2020.
