Murat Sönmez

Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Pulsora, Inc

Murat is the co-founder and CEO of Pulsora, a purpose-built SaaS platform to help companies define, capture, improve, disclose their sustainability and ESG footprint and comply with current and emerging regulations. Founded in 2021, and with more than 500 companies on its platform across 63 countries, Pulsora has been adopted by leading companies around the world in sectors including private equity, venture capital, insurance, manufacturing, luxury retail, and energy. Between 2014 and until founding Pulsora, Murat was a member of the Managing Bard of the World Economic Forum. In 2017, Murat was the founding head of the Forum’s global Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution network, focused on co-designing and testing forward looking governance protocols of technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, synthetic biology, blockchain, drones, and autonomous vehicles. Prior to joining the Forum, Murat was a co-founder of TIBCO Software in Palo Alto, California, where as the head of its global field operations, led the company to over $1 billion in revenue. Founded in 1997, TIBCO’s real time data and process integration software platform was adopted by leading companies worldwide across a variety of industries. Internet pioneers such as amazon, eBay, and Yahoo! were among TIBCO’s earlier clients. Murat started his professional career in Silicon Valley in 1989 as a software engineer helping automate many of the world’s leading semiconductor fabrication facilities. He holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Bosphorus University in Istanbul, Türkiye, and MSc in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Virginia Tech.
