Actress, Producer, Humanitarian and qualified Accountant from the University of Cape Town, Nomzamo Mbatha - spokesperson of global beauty brand Neutrogena South Africa- is a woman paving her own path through many avenues. She can be seen in the film and television productions such as television epic Shaka Ilembe where she also serves as Executive producer, Hollywood hit Coming 2 America starring Eddie Murphy, Assassin alongside Bruce Willis and the highly successful South African telenovela, Isibaya.
Founder of the Nomzamo Lighthouse Foundation an organisation that provides scholarships for college students and supports youth in supplying basic school needs. The foundation also raises funds for an annual R1million grant for black women-founded entities that operate in underserved communities.
In 2019, Nomzamo was appointed by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees as global Goodwill Ambassador. She has travelled across the African continent to refugee camps on UN field missions, lobbying for nations to provide shelter and asylum to African refugees whilst assisting to raise funds to support refugee girls and women.
In 2020, Nomzamo was named CottonOn Foundation global Ambassador lobbying to raise funds that have been utilised to build schools in Kwamashu, Durban as well as support marginalised youth through robust leadership programs.
She is also a Global Citizen Ambassador fighting to end extreme poverty and to build a more just world by holding global leaders accountable to true action and change
In 2024 it was announced that Nomzamo alongside Robert Irwin would be the first global ambassadors to Prince William and the Royal Foundation’s Earthshot Prize, a global environmental prize that discovers, celebrates and supports climate action solutions.
She has made the coveted Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2018 and in the same year was named Philanthropist of The Year by E! Entertainment Africa. In 2024 some notable highlights: Forbes Women Africa Entertainer of The Year, Forbes Over 30 Under 50, Golden Keys Honorary membership at the University of KwaZulu Natal and University of Free State, Septimius Awards Netherlands, Best African Actress.
