Olga Shelkova
I was born on July 23, 1960 in Moscow.
I graduated from Moscow State University (Department of History) in 1983.
In 1985 my husband was sent on an official business to Canada, he served as newspaper PRAVDA Canadian Bureau Chief.
I was assigned as a secretary of the Bureau and the range of my responsibilities included Bureau external relations, Parliament Press Gallery liaison, mass-media monitoring, state visits support. During our service in Ottawa I also worked as a teacher at the Russian Embassy school.
Upon our return back to Russia in 1992 I started working for the Representative Office of United Technologies International Operations Inc. (UTIO) and served there for sixteen years. My initial position was Program Manager for Pratt&Whitney Russian programs, and I was involved in the joint project between P&W and Ilyushin Design Company on development, production and flight testing of a new aircraft.
Later on I was promoted to the Rep Office manager position responsible for administrative matters. Since UTIO had highest regard for employee education and training I got an excellent opportunity to master management and financial skills and took several Management development courses at Corporate Headquarters in East Hartford, USA.
My final position within UTIO was Director of HR and Administration, and in addition to that I also served as a Business Practice Officer responsible for Corporate Business Practice and Code of Ethics compliance.
In 2008 my carrier was considerably refocused when I accepted a proposal from VTB bank to start working at the Department of Public Relations and Marketing. I was involved in a numerous special projects mostly related to cultural events and sponsorship programs.
Hereafter I was promoted to the position of Advisor to the First Deputy Chairman and continue to serve in the same capacity till now.
As far as my private area of interests is concerned I can mention art, art history, architecture, music and agricultural tourism.
