Graduate, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Chartered Accountant. More than 35 years' experience in the glass manufacturing and automotive industries. Until 2010, Managing Director, Malaysian Sheet Glass. April 2011, appointed Deputy Chairman and Commissioner, Enforcement Agency Integrity Organisation. Currently, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, in charge of Governance, Integrity and Human Rights; portfolio involves collaborating with relevant stakeholders, including federal ministries and state governments, to promote good governance practices and strengthening of transparency and accountability. Immediate past President, Transparency International Malaysia. Former Vice-President and President, Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers. Former Member of the Board: Sunway; Pos Malaysia. Former Member: National Economic Action Council (NEAC) (during the financial crisis of 1997 to 1999); Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA); Malaysian Institute of Economic Research; Malaysian Services Development Council. Was also involved actively in international multilateral organizations, including APEC, WTO, ASEAN; chaired the Private Sector Taskforce on Free Trade Arrangement.
