Rolf Dörig

Chairman, Swiss Life Group (Swiss Life Holding)

Swiss national, born 1957. Rolf Dörig has been Chair since January 2009 and a member of the Board of Directors since May 2007, member of the Governance & Nomination Committee since April 2017. He has served on the Nomination & Compensation and the Corporate Governance Committees. His one-year term of office ends on the day of the next Annual General Meeting of Shareholders.
Rolf Dörig obtained a doctorate degree in law (Dr. iur.) from the University of Zurich, Switzerland, and was subsequently admitted to the Bar. Furthermore, he also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School (Boston), USA.
After joining Credit Suisse in 1986, he held a number of executive positions in various areas of banking and different geographical markets. As a member of the Group Executive Board, he was assigned responsibility for Swiss corporate and retail banking from 2000 onwards. In 2002, he held the position of Chairman Switzerland. Rolf Dörig was Chief Executive Officer of the Swiss Life Group from November 2002 until May 2008, when he was elected to the Board of Directors.
Rolf Dörig is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Swiss Life Holding AG1, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of dormakaba Holding AG1, member of the Board of Directors of Emil Frey Holding AG, all in Switzerland, and member of the Supervisory Board of Danzer Holding AG in Austria. In June 2017, Rolf Dörig was appointed Chairman of Swiss Insurance Association (SIA). Furthermore, Rolf Dörig is a member of the Board Committee of economiesuisse, Switzerland.
