PhD in Electrical Engineering, Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine; in Human development, Oxford University. 2005, became the youngest serving minister since the establishment of the Palestine National Authority, serving as a Minister of Telecom and IT. Former Adviser to the Palestinian President on Telecommunications, Information Technology and Technical Education. 2004, founded Palestine Digital Library. 2006, led telecom market liberalization in Palestine and introduced the Palestine Telecom Regulatory Authority (PTRA) law. Founded a series of initiatives including the e-Government Initiative, the National Academic Network, Palestine Education Initiative (PEl). Also co-enhanced Cisco's role in Palestine which led to the establishment of its $10 million investment initiative. Helped launch PS and its governing body, the Palestinian National Internet Naming Authority (PNINA). 2007, founded the Palestine e-Republic. Co-founded the Internet Society-Palestine Chapter (ISOC-PS), PC & Net 4 All (to provide computers and internet connectivity to deprived citizens) and the Birzeit Innovation Group (BIG), for innovation and technology. Former Member, Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission. December 2016, elected to the Central Committee of Fateh. Currently, youngest serving Minister of Education and Higher Education.
