Sam Goldman is the Founder and President of d.light, a social enterprise dedicated to making clean energy universally available and affordable. With regional headquarters in the United States, China, India and Kenya, and a presence in 60 countries, d.lights' solar powered home systems and energy efficient home appliances have improved the lives of over 98 million people since 2007. Prior to d.light, Goldman founded and managed multiple ventures in Africa, including improved agriculture and construction businesses, a for-profit NGO cultivating the miracle tree Moringa oleifera, and the distribution of low-cost latrines, cook stoves and rain water catchment cisterns. Goldman has been selected as an Ashoka Fellow and he was recognized by Forbes as one of the world's top 30 social entrepreneurs. He has degrees in biology and environmental studies and an MBA from Stanford.
