Mr. S P Lohia (71), Chairman Indorama Group, started Indorama’s first manufacturing plant in 1976 in Indonesia. He has been the driving force behind Indorama’s global growth for the last 47 years, which currently encompasses 177 manufacturing sites across 39 countries around the world with Group turnover exceeding US$ 25 billion.
He is also the Chairman of Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, Thailand, which has a current market capitalisation of ~ US$ 4 billion.

Indorama is the most global spread out producer of fertilisers, the world’s largest producer of Polyester and PET Resin, Bi-Component PP Fibers, and West Africa’s largest manufacturer of polyolefin's.

He is a member of the Advisory Council of Indonesian Employers Association.

He is a commerce graduate from University of Delhi. He was born in India, is a citizen of Indonesia and resides in London. He is married with two children. He speaks English, Hindi and Indonesian languages.

He is a passionate collector of art, rare books and hand coloured lithographs. His collection of 2,300 books with over 21,000 images are available for viewing at www.splrarebooks.com.
