Ms. Teresita Sy-Coson is the Vice Chairperson at SM Investments Corporation (SM), one of the country’s foremost conglomerates.

SMIC is a primary investor in businesses that have become market leaders spanning retail, banking, and property sectors. Its directors continue to invest in sectors with promising growth potential in the Philippines including logistics, renewable energy, financial technology and critical digital infrastructure.
SM Investments Corporation, together with its publicly traded subsidiaries constitute roughly 30% of the Philippine Stock Exchange Index Fund.

In the banking sector, Ms. Sy-Coson stands as the Chairperson of BDO Unibank (BDO). Under her leadership, BDO leads in metrics like total assets, loans, deposits, capital, and managed trust funds.

Ms. Sy-Coson presides as the Chairperson of SM Retail, Inc. which has transformed into the country's leading retail group, with an extensive range of department stores, supermarkets, and specialty retail outlets.

Further diversifying her portfolio of responsibilities, Ms. Sy-Coson sits as an Adviser to the Board of Directors at SM Prime Holdings, Inc. SM Prime is recognized as one of Southeast Asia's premier integrated property developers, known for creating and overseeing a host of establishments including 85 malls to date, residences to leisure and tourism developments.

In line with SM’s commitment to social responsibility, Ms. Sy-Coson also serves as Vice Chairperson at SM Foundation, Inc. (SMFI). This organization spearheads a comprehensive sustainability agenda aimed at uplifting the well-being of its beneficiary communities. Under her direction, the SM Foundation makes targeted social investments in education, healthcare, livelihood, and housing, all tailored to support underserved Filipinos and is deeply committed to promoting initiatives championing environmental conservation.

From 2011 to 2019, Ms. Sy-Coson served as a Philippine representative to the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC). She is currently a member of the Private Sector Advisory Council, a group of eminent business leaders advising and proposing policies and programs to assist President Marcos in achieving national economic objectives.
