Born in Lima, dancer and social entrepreneur graduated from the Universidad del Pacifico in 2002. Principal dancer for the National Ballet of Ireland and selected by the Cirque du Soleil, decides to return to Lima to open the Cultural Association D1 in 2005 of which she is founder and director. Vania Masias is brand ambassador for Peru, Ashoka fellow, recognized by the ministry of education with the maximun honor AMAUTA (2019), winner of Synacyd award for social innovation, appointed by Indecopi with the prize of the institution 2012, the Association D1 won Esteban Campodonico award for its service to society in 2012. Named by the newspaper Peru 21 as one of the 21 top Peruvians, GQ magazine names her character inspiration 2012, illustrious citizen by the Municipality of Lima in 2009 and 2014, named by the newspaper El Trome as among the 11 notables Peruvian 2012. Named by Semana Economica Magazine as one of the 49 most innovative Peruvian history of Peru. Awarded by the Ministry of Culture with the most important recognition for her contribution in the cultural scene and awarded by the National Congress for her contribution in the social transformation of the country. Her last artistic work was the creative concept and choreographic director for the LIMA 2019 Panamerican games. With D1 she has also created the biggest urban cultural platform in Peru and Latin America, Pura calle festival (more than 200,000 asistants in 3 days)
It is an Ashoka Fellow and named in 2014 as Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. She has lectured for the World Bank, IDB, Eisenhower Fellowships in Miami and CAF in Mexico DF, TEDx Lima (2012), TEDx Buenos Aires (2012) and SXSW.
