Vivek is Head of Global Trade and Receivables Finance, focusing on driving revenue growth through strengthening international connectivity, deepening our client wallet share, expanding product propositions and advancing our sustainable trade finance agenda to further cement our position as the world’s leading trade bank. He is a member of both the HSBC Commercial Banking and Global Banking Executive Committees.
Vivek first joined HSBC in 2015 as Global Head of Product and Propositions for GTRF, and later assuming the role of Global Head of Growth & Innovation for CMB where he was responsible for key strategic growth initiatives, exploring new business models and driving the adoption of new technologies, before taking an external role as CEO of Serai (a digital B2B network designed to simplify global trade). Vivek has held several senior management positions in the financial sector, including MD at Barclays where he led the build out of transaction banking globally, and Head of Group Strategy and Chief Operating Officer for the Corporate Markets business at Lloyds Banking Group.
Vivek has a Ph.D in Economics from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh USA where he received the University’s highest recognition awards for his teaching and research accomplishments.
