Ning Wang is Professor of Physics and Director of Materials Characterization & Preparation Facility at HKUST. His research interests mainly focus on fundamental issues of materials physics, particularly 1D and 2D nanomaterials fabrication and property characterization. His representative achievements include discoveries of octagonal quasicrystals, oxide-assisted growth technology for 1D nanostructures and world’s smallest superconducting carbon nanotubes. Professor Wang has authored/co-authored over 200 research papers and received Chien-Shiung Wu Physics Award, State Natural Science Award and Achievement in Asia Award.
