Professor of Economics at UCL, Research Fellow of the CEPR, London, and Fellow of the European Economic Association. Research focuses on macroeconomics, institutions and economic performance, and the economics of transition. Member of the Expert Advisory Panel of the UK’s Office for Budget Responsibility. Consultant for the EBRD and the World Bank. Published two macroeconomics books co-authored with David Soskice. A new one to meet the challenges of the financial crisis is: Macroeconomics: Institutions, Instability and the Financial System, OUP, 2014. Leads an international project funded by INET on undergraduate economics curriculum reform (www.core-econ.org).
