Geneva, Switzerland, 16 June 2015 – The ninth World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2015 will be held on 9-11 September in Dalian, People’s Republic of China. Convening under the theme, Charting a New Course for Growth, more than 1,500 participants from business, government, research and media from over 90 countries are expected to participate.

Media accreditation is now open. If you wish to cover the meeting, please submit your accreditation request online at www.weforummedia.org. The deadline is Friday 21 August 2015. No accreditation will be done on-site. All accreditation requests are subject to final confirmation by the World Economic Forum.

The Co-Chairs of the Annual Meeting of the New Champions are: Mitchell Baker, Executive Chairwoman, Mozilla Foundation, USA;  Francis S. Collins, Director, National Institutes of Health, USA; Ken Hu, Deputy Chairman, Huawei Technologies, People’s Republic of China; Carlos Moedas, Commissioner, Research, Science and Innovation, European Commission, Brussels; Li Ruigang, Chairman, China Media Capital (CMC), People’s Republic of China and Jeffrey R. Tarr, President and Chief Executive Officer, DigitalGlobe, USA.

This Forum’s global gathering on innovation, science and technology will explore innovative and entrepreneurial responses to new global trends affecting growth prospects, including transformational technologies, digital disruptions, economic divergence, regional rebalancing and environmental boundaries. The three-day meeting is designed for leaders to discover and debate breakthrough innovations with top experts and technologists; engage with a new generation of business innovators and research pioneers; advance innovation, productivity and trust through public-private dialogue; and create opportunities for partnering and growth in China’s rapidly evolving economy.
