World Economic Forum Honours 132 Companies as Global Growth Companies

  • 132 of the world’s fastest-growing companies have been invited to join the Global GrowthCompanies community at the Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions.

Dalian, People’s Republic of China, 8 September 2015 – The World Economic Forum today announced its selection of Global Growth Companies (GGCs) for 2015, consisting of 132 of the world’s most dynamic and high-growth companies. As honourees, these companies are given the opportunity to join the larger GGC community at the Forum’s ninth Annual Meeting of the New Champions, taking place on 9-11 September in Dalian, People’s Republic of China.

The Forum’s Community of Global Growth Companies brings together influential and fast-growing companies as innovators and market shapers, and supports their potential for impact in their region, their sector and around the globe.

This year’s GGC honourees represent a cross-section of industry sectors and share a track record of exceeding industry standards in revenue growth, promotion of innovative business practices and demonstration of leadership in corporate global citizenship.

Some of the GGC honourees present in Dalian are:

Advanced Holdings Ltd (Singapore)  – Global engineering organization active in the oil & gas and chemical industries

Amata Corporation Pcl (Thailand) – Largest listed conglomerate in the industrial estate sector in Thailand

Ethiopian Airlines (Ethiopia) – National carrier of Ethiopia, serving over 80 international destinations

Globalance Bank Ltd (Switzerland) – Innovative private bank that specializes in sustainable investments

Hoa Sen Group (Vietnam) – One of the largest manufacturers of building materials in Vietnam

ironSource Ltd (Israel) – World-leading platform for software discovery, distribution and delivery

Meikles Limited (Zimbabwe) – One of the largest conglomerates in Zimbabwe, with over 100 years of history

National Microfinance Bank Plc (Tanzania) – One of the largest commercial banks in Tanzania

One97 Communications Ltd (India) – India’s leading mobile internet company and payment solutions provider

Parami Energy (Myanmar) – Major regional player in the field of power, construction and oil & gas

Schandy (Uruguay) – Leading business group operating in the field of shipping, ports and logistics

Silverlake Axis Limited (Malaysia) – Leading provider of state-of-the-art digital economy solutions and services

Snapdeal (India) – Largest online marketplace in India, serving tens of millions of customers

Trade & Development Bank of Mongolia (Mongolia) – Leading provider of banking and financial services

Waltersmith Petroman Oil Limited (Nigeria) – Indigenous fast-growing petroleum producing company

“When choosing entrants to our Community of Global Growth Companies, we assess companies on their business model, annual revenues and growth rates, executive leadership and market position. The 2015 honourees represent a dynamic group with clear potential to shape the future in different business sectors and therefore are a perfect fit for our GGC community,” said Olivier M. Schwab, Head of Business Engagement at the World Economic Forum.

Overall, the GGC community consists of over 400 enterprises worldwide. These companies contribute to the Forum’s meetings, projects and knowledge products; in turn, the Forum supports them on their path to achieving responsible and sustainable growth.

The World Economic Forum recognizes new GGCs through a rigorous selection process. Candidates are drawn from a pool of highly qualified companies following a worldwide nomination process. Individuals with a strong understanding of companies that might qualify as a GGC are invited to submit nominations for the next selection cycle. GGC honourees will join the GGC community in Dalian on 9-11 September. Convening under the theme Charting a New Course for Growth, the ninth Annual Meeting of the New Champions will bring together the Forum’s Members, Partners and all of its future-oriented communities to explore innovative and entrepreneurial responses to the new growth challenge.

Collins, Director, National Institutes of Health, USA; Ken Hu, Deputy Chairman and Rotating Chief Executive Officer, Huawei Technologies, People’s Republic of China; Li Ruigang, Founding Chairman, CMC Capital Partners, CMC Holdings, People’s Republic of China; Carlos Moedas, Commissioner, Research, Science and Innovation, European Commission, Brussels; and Jeffrey R. Tarr, President and Chief Executive Officer, DigitalGlobe, USA.
