New York, USA, April 11, 2016 Media accreditation for the World Economic Forum on Latin America, which will take place in Medellín, Colombia, on 16-17 June 2016, is now open. In its 11th year the meeting returns to Colombia, providing a platform for top decision-makers from business, politics, civil society and academia across the region to discuss Latin America’s future.

Held under the theme “Reigniting Latin America’s Inclusive Growth”, the meeting will explore how a new prosperity agenda can be actively shaped, and examine the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution for the region.

Marisol Argueta de Barillas, Senior Director, Head of Latin America, World Economic Forum, said: “We chose to hold this meeting at Medellín because the city’s transformation over the past two decades is a good example of successful 21st-century urban innovation. At the same time, Colombia is close to a historic accord that promises opportunities for sustained peace, economic progress and social inclusion. These inspiring achievements teach valuable lessons and are a reminder that socioeconomic advances require constant attention as well as concerted and strategic action.”

The Co-Chairs of the 2016 World Economic Forum on Latin America are:

· Carlos Julio Ardila Lulle, Chief Executive Officer, Organizacion Ardila Lulle, Colombia

· Brian Gallagher, President and Chief Executive Officer, United Way Worldwide, USA

· Ilene Gordon, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer, Ingredion , USA

· Carlos Salazar Lomelin, Chief Executive Officer, FEMSA, Mexico

· Francesco Starace, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager, Enel SpA, Italy
