New York, USA, 25 October 2021 – Cities are the bedrock of the global economy and home to a growing majority of the world’s population. As global challenges increase—from COVID-19 to climate change—cities are on the frontline of disruption, yet their ability to weather current and future crises will shape our economic future and the livelihood of billions.
The three-day event will launch the World Economic Forum’s new Centre for Urban Transformation. The Summit will be hosted in Detroit with both in-person and virtual sessions, including local, national and international mayors, business executives, community change-makers, entrepreneurs and innovators.
The World Economic Forum is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation, and has been using its convening power at the global and national scale for more than fifty years. The new Global Centre for Urban Transformation brings this approach to address the most pressing issues facing cities today.
Media sign-up is now open for the World Economic Forum’s inaugural Urban Transformation Summit 6-8 December 2021.
