Research and Analysis : Accelerating the Biomanufacturing Revolution

Biomanufacturing continues to grow despite the macroeconomic environment. Innovation and recent advancements in the field of synthetic biology have enabled significant unit cost reductions of foundational biological engineering operations like the reading (sequencing) and writing (synthesis) of DNA. As economies of scale continue to drive costs down, the opportunity to leverage sustainable, scalable, and innovative biomanufacturing solutions is becoming increasingly relevant to the broader manufacturing community.

This initiative aims to:

• Identify emerging opportunities where biomanufacturing could impact sustainability, economics, and/or innovate new product development in the manufacturing and industrial space

• Identify top priorities for public-private sector collaboration to facilitate emerging bioeconomy

• Convene manufacturing leaders with biomanufacturing pioneers to forge new collaborations and incubate pilot programs
