After 5

Education in Kuala Lumpur is generally very good. Our city has an above average literacy rate. But high overall quality masks lasting inequalities, especially in rural areas. After 5 helps to empower and inspire rural youth to ensure no student is left behind. After 5 is a one day school programme that targets under-performing students in rural areas who lack access and inspiration to resources to make informed decisions about their future. We conduct workshops to help students understand their strengths and weaknesses, offer financial literacy training and management, and coordinate influential speakers to share with students their career paths and experiences. Our hub designs the curriculum with the assistance and feedback from formal educators in Malaysia.120 students have participated in our workshops to date.
