Civic Participation

We propose to create youth councils in each district of Cairo that will be in charge of mobilizing local youth and introducing new technologies to improve the standard of living. These young leaders will help introduce IoT technologies to keep track of pressing city issues by collecting meaningful data such as the amount of garbage, congestion and pollution. The hub will also help establish a civic incubator to exclusively tackle city issues such as pollution, congestion, harassment, urban spaces, water and sewage. We believe this will go a long way in nurturing proactive communities and ultimately, visionary leaders. By encouraging, mobilizing and empowering the young, a tremendously positive snowball effect could potentially overtake Cairo. This initiative will breed life in each district and hopefully lead to the emergence of young leaders all across Cairo with the mission of creating positive change.
