The pandemic has been tough on everybody and the Coimbatore Hub wanted to identify the needs of the neglected individuals of the community (for instance low income migrant workers, physically challenged, etc.) affected by the COVID lockdown restriction and provide relief for the targeted community.
As part of the project, the hub did the following:

Bridging the gap of fear to hope among migrant workers
For the COVID-19 relief activities, Coimbatore Global Shapers took initiatives to help the migrant workers from other states who were left stranded without work, and hence money and food and have given them kits containing groceries, masks, soaps, sanitizers, groceries and more.
Lending Hands to our City’s Hygiene Heroes
The Sanitary Workforce are our heroes and are the sign of a hygienic and safe city, fighting COVID-19. As a mark of support to the frontline sanitary workers, especially the pushcart waste collectors who go door to door for collection of waste from houses and colonies, the hub gave protective kits containing 300 mask ,50 pairs of gloves , 50 hand sanitizers of 100 ml along with 20 L of disinfectant Liquid to Mr Radhakrishnan, Zonal Sanitary Officer - Central Zone , Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation for aiding 50 Pushcart Workers of Ward 25.
Help Disabled Women with Medical Supplies
Members of Global Shapers Coimbatore distributed medical supplies to the Disability Welfare Association for Women as they were unable to get medical supplies supported by a Local NGO- The Arc Foundation India.
Feed stray animals in the area
"You pray for the hungry. Then you feed them. This is how prayer works."
Global Shapers Coimbatore Hub have been feeding dogs in their representative areas and areas close by industries where the street dogs has been suffering with no food. The hub members were engaged in providing them water and food with support of the Animal Welfare Team.
