Doodle with Uterus

Discrimination against menstruation is widespread in India and around the world, where periods have long been taboo and considered impure. Women who are menstruating are often excluded from social and religious events, denied entry into temples and shrines and even kept out of kitchens. Furthermore, there is still an element of shame associated with a menstruator's monthly cycle. Through a campaign, the Noida Hub Shaeprs are looking to encourage everyone to start a conversation about menstruation.

Doodle with Uterus is a global campaign to celebrate menstruation and amplify voices through art. Hub Shapers have called upon anyone above the age of 14 to participate and use their imagination and creativity to express their voices and talk about their experience with menstruation, period poverty, endometriosis, PCOS, etc.

In the first year of the campaign, the project team successfully partnered with 12 organizations for outreach efforts and collected 100+ artwork from artists, professionals, students and senior citizens. The short-term goal of the project is to design a web page and promote it to start a conversation around menstruation. The long-term goal is to keep amplifying different voices through art and hold panel discussions to talk and celebrate menstruation.
