Ecobox - environmental education and battery recycling project

The environmental movement "ECOBox" is dedicated to the processing of municipal solid waste. The main focus is environmental education and batteries recycling in the Yaroslavl region.

Many people don't know that batteries can't simply be thrown away because they are dangerous. The idea of the project is to raise awareness on ecology problems and the need for recycling as well as to recycle as many batteries as possible.

The Hub was specifically looking into the following objectives while implementing the project:

1. Raise awareness on ecology problems and the need for recycling.  

2. Collect and recycle batteries.

As a result, 50 people were trained. Ecoboxes were developed and installed in a few crowded places in Yaroslavl to collect the used batteries. More than 800 kg of batteries were collected and recycled.
