New Vision: Global Water Governance 2.0

If water remains our most valuable and shared resource, why don't we manage it? This vital resource remains a challenge to properly manage at nearly all levels of government, from local communities to the international stage.

The Global Shapers Dresden Hub has launched the Water Governance 2.0 project. This initiative aims at brainstorming and offering solutions on how governments, intergovernmental agencies, the private sector and the public can optimize water governance.

The goals of the project include:

  • Developing financing models, particularly in developing and emerging economies, that will empower grassroots and communal action in water governance

  • Helping to create and adjust enabling policy frameworks to address specific barriers to water governance, especially in cross-border exchange

  • Creating stronger, communicative public-private collaborations to scale impact around water governance initiatives
