Project Zero Waste

According to the data by Pune Municipal Corporation, less than 30% of plastic waste generated in the city is recycled . The rest either goes to landfills or ends up in water bodies. There is very little awareness amongst the general population about waste management( segregation, recycling, etc) and very few channels for effective waste management.

Project Zero Waste aims to create this awareness among the population of Pune through workshops in educational institutes, societies, etc. We also aim to facilitate creation of effective waste management systems in communities like schools, colleges, etc by connecting them with different stakeholders ( plastic recycling companies, government programmes, etc) and service providers.

Through this project , we aim to gradually move the population of the city towards a Zero Waste system - where waste generated is always effectively dealt with - reusing, recycling or proper disposal.
