Skills Mapping

The Fourth Industrial Revolution will have fundamental implications on how humans interact and how we define work. Re-skilling and upskilling workforces will be critical to prepare for future changes. Shapers in the Ahmadabad Hub aim to create a skills map, which featuries workers' skills in the informal sector.Shapers will build a skills tree, an interactive and accessible booth for all citizens to record their skills. Through data analytics, the Ahmadabad Hub hopes to improve how unorganised labour is sourced and to track how technological progress transforms industries over time. This project can be used a way to inform decision-making by collating information, tracking industries that remain resilient and influencing how best to meet the needs of displaced labour through new economic opportunities.
