Download the Nature Positive: Role of the Automotive Sector report

With 43 countries committed to transitioning to zero-emissions vehicles, the automotive sector has a unique opportunity to accelerate the road to net zero. However, the sector also has material impacts and dependencies on nature – including pollution and waste, water use, and land use change and ecosystem disturbance – throughout its value chain, creating nature-related risks and threatening supply chains such as for metals, rubber and leather.

Developed in collaboration with Oliver Wyman, the Nature Positive: Role of the Automotive Sector report highlights the five priority actions businesses can take to contribute towards nature-positive, including avoiding and reducing impacts from operations and materials, transforming product offerings, conserving and restoring nature, and driving collaboration.

By prioritizing the actions promoted in the report, the industry stands to unlock over $960 billion per year in additional value by 2030, for businesses operating across the sector’s value chain.
