Download the Nature Positive: Role of the Chemical Sector report

Global chemicals sales total around $4 trillion a year and provide essential materials for 95% of all manufactured goods worldwide. The sector relies on the natural world for water, resources and biomass, yet it also contributes to drivers of nature loss, such as pollution and land-use change.

Developed in collaboration with Oliver Wyman, the Nature Positive: Role of the Chemical Sector report promotes five priority actions businesses can take to reduce their impacts on nature and unlock opportunities across value chains, spanning manufacturing efficiency, water stewardship, responsible sourcing, nature conservation and circularity.

By implementing these solutions, the sector stands to unlock over $320 billion in annual business opportunities by 2030 in a new nature-positive economy.
