But the past few years have also allowed for innovation in the way health and healthcare systems are designed and delivered. Now is the time to take forward key learnings from the pandemic response and align stakeholders, industries, countries, and sectors to a shared vision for health and healthcare by 2035.
To do so, the World Economic Forum in collaboration with L.E.K. Consulting produced the Global Health and Healthcare Strategic Outlook following consultation with members of the Strategy Officers Community and other industry experts. The Outlook sets out a vision for 2035 based on four strategic pillars of equitable access and outcomes, healthcare systems transformation, technology and innovation, and environmental sustainability, with equity as the foundational goal. For each of these strategic pillars, the Outlook addresses existing barriers public and private stakeholders face and demonstrates ways to mitigate these through case studies from across the world. Although the Outlook sets out a long-term vision, near- and medium-term goals for public and private stakeholders are identified to inspire and catalyse change from now.
