My Davos Moments

Having participated the fourth time, I am again in awe of the incredible energy which this event generates.
Remembering last year, which was one of uncertainty and even fear, this year was much calmer and more focused on the issues which lie ahead. In particular, the discussions around climate change and sustainability were dominant, and a feeling of more responsible behaviour in the interest of society at large was evident. There was no bashing of bankers or others, and I found the discussions somewhat more professional and to the point.
Meeting the Social Entrepreneurs was again magic. Their passion, drive and determination are just exemplary. They are always inspirational in the way they portray their mission and vision, and through that they are truly an inspiration to the Forum community.
One important issue we talked about was the scalability of the different enterprises. One major learning point for me was the notion: scale up the innovation, but not the organisation. Once the organisation gets too big, it can lose its purpose and effectiveness. All in all, a wonderful time spent in Davos at the Forum, with the Fellows of the Schwab Foundation, and a big thank you to Mirjam, Sandor and the wonderful team.
See you all again next year.
