Women are the driving factors of social innovation

Hilde Schwab-2904 (Medium) (Medium) At a conference on Women’s Leadership convened by the US Embassy in Bern, Switzerland, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, presentations dealt with issues such as gender equality, quotas for women in politics and business, and work/life balance.

While the world of technological and scientific innovation is still dominated by men, in development, women are the driving factors of social innovation – as we see at the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship. I was very happy to present a number of women Social Entrepreneurs in our network who have created remarkable organizations to improve the living conditions of millions of people.

On this special day: congratulations to all of you and to the many who are unknown and silently work under difficult circumstances to give their families and children a dignified life. Keep up the effort – we are here to help you!

Hilde Schwab
