High-level anti-corruption MoU signed in Austria

9 June 2011 marks an important development in the collaboration between two important players in the global fight against corruption. The International Anti-Corruption Academy and the World Economic Forum Partnering Against Corruption Initiative (PACI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), outlining the intent to work together more closely in the fight against corruption, and, among other things, have PACI signatory companies provide training for classes of corporate compliance officers at the International Anti-Corruption Academy. The MoU was signed at the World Economic Forum on Europe and Central Asia 2011 at a session on anti-corruption with 50 leaders from business, government and civil society.

Robert Greenhill, Managing Director at the World Economic Forum and Martin Kreutner, Chair Steering Committee and Head Transition Team, International Anti-Corruption Academy signed the MoU. The International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) is a joint initiative by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the Republic of Austria and the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF). IACA aims to overcome current shortcomings in knowledge and practice in the field of anti-corruption. The Academy will function as an independent centre of excellence in the field of anti-corruption education, training, networking and cooperation and academic research.
