World Economic Forum Twitter and Facebook Survey 2011
Thank you all for your time these past couple of days to share with us your thoughts and suggestions on how we can improve our social media feeds.
The feedback was great and we always appreciate your input. Here are our responses.
@camidoll asked us to put up more pictures. We have dug into our historic archive and for the past six weeks have published a Historic Picture of the Day album on Facebook, Twitter and Google +. In the coming weeks we will release more historic pictures from the 1990 and 2000s.
@annanthem requested we “ask Tweeps to suggest topics & who should speak for one or two keynotes”.
We already open our participants to the public via the YouTube Davos Debates channel and our Ask a Leader competition but this is a great suggestion and something we might look into for future meetings. During the Annual Meeting 2011 at Davos key questions put to Russian President Medvedev were generated through our social media channels.
We also had suggestions from @hadjibeye to Tweet and post pictures and videos about what the World Economic Forum does and to make our profile more “human” by posting pictures and videos about social events. The World Economic Forum website is a wonderful information hub where you can find out about the Forum’s many initiatives, reports and events.
Many of you voted for more headlines which linked to pages summarising ideas, articles, speakers and trends. The Forum Blog is our key platform for sharing the latest thoughts, views and movements of our participants and the public is encouraged to post comments and engage in conversation with our guest bloggers throughout the year. We are launching a new blog soon so stay tuned.
Facebook users asked for “more questions and polls about economic issues” and more data on specific topics such as poverty, ecological footprints and government legality. These are all great suggestions which we will take to our programme team.
For those who wanted greater country comparison also stay tuned for our upcoming Global Competitiveness Report launch on 7 September 2011 in the run-u to the Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Dalian China.
The report will be free to download at http://wef.ch/gcr.
