Welcome to the new Forum:Blog

Chris Parker
Head of Digital Media, World Economic Forum

Progress in our complex world is made through the contest of ideas, the cut and thrust of debate. But debate doesn’t happen spontaneously, it needs the right kind of environment, stimulus input and output.

The World Economic Forum launched its blog in 2004 as a platform for the vast variety of ideas and issues generated by our events, initiatives and projects. Since then, agenda.weforum.org has become a centre for discussion and debate, reporting and polemic.

Today, we relaunch as Forum: Blog with a new design, enhanced interactive capabilities, clearer community sections, regular video, podcasts and galleries. The aim is to provide a user environment that enables richer debate, deeper engagement, and more dynamic interaction.

Regular contributions from Forum members, constituents and staff will provide commentary and news about the work we are doing and the issues affecting the world. We’ll continue to publish regular updates from the Forum’s communities – from measuring the global gender gap and gauging the biggest risks that threaten the global economy, to championing social entrepreneurs who are finding new and more ethical ways to do business.

Forum:Blog has moved to a faster WordPress platform so pages will load quicker, and we have also added new functionality that allows better sharing and easier linking. We will soon be making commenting simpler through the Disqus comment system which allows you to login via your Facebook, Twitter or Google account.

We will be publishing regular video interviews with key stakeholders, and upload photo galleries from our many events. A weekly podcast will be published on Thursdays, including exclusive interviews and updates.

We hope that the new site will help to foster the spirit of collaboration, which is so important to the Forum’s commitment to improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.

Your feedback on the new design is very much appreciated.
