Press conference: All you need to know about Davos 2014
Who is coming to the Annual Meeting 2014 and what will dominate the agenda? The participants, programme and agenda was unveiled at a press conference on Wednesday January 15. Watch the webcast here.
During the pre-Meeting press conference Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman and the Forum’s executive leadership introduced the aims, the participation and the structure of the Meeting, which will take place in Davos-Klosters from 22-25 January.
Details to be announced include which heads of state will be participating and how to watch highlights from the Meeting online. The management of the Forum talked to various facets of the programme:
Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman, discussed the theme – The Reshaping of the World: Consequences for Society, Politics and Business – and his personal vision for this year’s Meeting.
Lee Howell, Managing Director, talked about the programme structure and content.
Robert Greenhill, Managing Director, introduced several major business-led initiatives at this year’s Annual Meeting – a series of health-related sessions and initiatives, the Forum’s Partnering Against Corruption project to design corruption out of business systems, and business engagement around youth unemployment.
Saadia Zahidi, Head of Gender Parity and Human Capital, spoke about the representation of civil society at the Annual Meeting. Saadia spoke to some of the Forum’s important work in the field of gender parity and human capital and highlighted some key developments we can expect in the area of climate change in Davos following the Forum’s activities in 2013.
Jennifer Blanke, Chief Economist, spoke about two major areas of work for the Forum: competitiveness and risk. She will give us some highlights on how we can expect this and other work the Forum has been involved in throughout the year to inform and shape next week’s discussions.
Adrian Monck, Managing Director and Head of Communications, moderated the discussion.
