Leadership lessons from Davos 2016

Every year in January, thousands of the world’s most influential people descend on the Swiss mountain town of Davos. The stories behind their success can teach us a lot about leadership. Here are some highlights from a thought-provoking week.

Canada's prime minister, Justin Trudeau, shared a similar message. Those people who have been successful in life owe it to others to help them do the same.


And it was picked up on again by Airbnb co-founder Nathan Blecharczyk.


Meg Whitman of Hewlett Packard Enterprise had some different advice: always push yourself and test your limits. You never know, you might surprise yourself.


Award-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio agreed: if you really want to make a difference, don't be afraid to be bold.


And whatever you do, make sure you have a plan, said Melinda Gates. You might have to change it along the way, but it will keep you heading in the right direction.

The Annual Meeting is taking place in Davos from 20 to 23 January, under the theme “Mastering the Fourth Industrial Revolution”.
