Europe is one of the most connected regions worldwide, a fact underlined by the penetration rate of household and mobile broadband across the continent.
By 2021, the rate of home broadband in Europe was close to saturation with a penetration rate of 90.2 percent, having jumped up from just over 70.6 percent in 2012. Furthermore, the rapid growth of mobile broadband has been even more impressive. Over the same time period, the penetration rate more than doubled from 46.2 percent in 2012 to 104 percent in 2021.
