Prior to founding the SecurityScorecard, Chief Technology Officer at BlogTalkRadio. Also Chief Information Security Officer at Gilt Groupe, managing information technology (IT) infrastructure security, fraud, secure application development and PCI compliance. Has led security teams at Goldman Sachs and Oracle. Has published numerous articles, won the Public Key Cryptography Conference Test of Time Award for the verifiable random function invention, holds numerous patents and author of The Perfect Scorecard: Getting an ‘A’ in Cybersecurity from Your Board of Directors. BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from New York University and PhD in Cryptography from Yale University.

Alex immigrated to the US with his parents when he was 12. His mother is Ukranian and in addition to his work at SSC he is an angel investor in the privacy and cybersecurity community. He's a competitive chess player and has his PhD in cryptography from Yale. Alex founded SecurityScorecard to address a long-standing gap in cyber--namely the inability to measure tangible improvements in cyber resilience in organizations and society as a whole. His vision is for SecurityScorecard to be a ubiquitous tool that enables any organization in the world to instantly quantify its cyber resilience and communicate to stakeholders about cyber health and maturity.
