I am currently involved in sustainable transformation at the Royal Commission for Riyadh City.
Prior this this, I have been Global/Group Head of Social & Sustainable Finance at the Al Baraka Banking Group, in Bahrain, the world's largest Islamic banking network, leading sustainable finance across the Group.

- Expert Network (social innovation and entrepreneurship)
In addition, I have been part of the following:
- As Co-Chair of the Sustainability Working Group for the Islamic finance industry (CIBAFI), and as Chair of the Sustainable Development Committee of the Bahrain Association of Banks (BAB), I have been fortunate to work with an exceptional group of leaders to explore various ways in which banks and the financial services sector can contribute to the continued sustainable development.
- The Consultative Group of the Taskforce on Scaling Voluntary Carbon Markets.
- As Chair of the Global Islamic and Sustainable FinTech Center at Bahrain Fintech Bay, which seeks to leverage financial technology, Islamic and sustainable finance for impact.
- As Co-Chair of the Islamic Finance Committee of the American Bar Association.
- As the founder of the Social Credits Initiative, a formal initiative of the Forum of Young Global Leaders, I worked with other YGLs to incentivize private investments for sustainable development and inclusive growth.
I have published internationally and his areas of interest and expertise include market-based strategies for financial inclusion and enterprise development, impact and blended finance, digital and sustainable finance, Islamic finance, the intersection of impact and faith, microfinance, foreign direct investments, and financial regulation.
As Fulbright Scholar, I received a doctorate in juridical sciences (SJD—with distinction) from the Georgetown University Law Center, a master of laws (LL.M.) from the Washington University School of Law, and a bachelor of laws (LL.B. Honours) from the International Islamic University, Islamabad, Pakistan. I have attended "Global Leadership and Public Policy in 21st Century" at Harvard University and "Transformational Leadership" at Oxford University.
