Alice Law Shing-Mui

Senior Fellow, Hong Kong Securities Institute

Ms. Alice Law is now an Adjunct Professor of Law in the University of Hong Kong, running the course of “Regulation in Practice”. The course aims to advocate ethical practices and robust compliance culture in the financial and monetary system.

Having finished 2 decades long as senior leaders in two regulatory bodies, Alice joined the private sector in 2022 as the CEO of an independent capital markets association “Asia Securities and Financial Markets Association” before she retired recently.

Alice was the Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (2018-2021) , and from 2012 to early 2018 she was the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director.

Qualified for over 20 years as a solicitor in Hong Kong and the UK after obtaining an LLB degree from the University of Hong Kong (LLB) and an LLM from University College London. Prior to joining the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority, worked in the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong for 14+ years Membership - Senior Fellow of the Hong Kong Securities and Investments Institute Expertise and interests - financial regulation, pension, strategic market development regarding China and RMB internationalization. Private interests - asia and international politics, golf, fine arts.
